I think there were about 30 Nevada fans there when we played them (and I'm sure they wished they hadn't come)

The biggest problem-the scam-are the Bowl Conference tie-ins which force ridiculous matchups between teams who have no way of filling their alottment. San Diego St in the New Orleans bowl is crazy. Louisiana Laffayette is a reasonable regional pick and brought 30,000. Forcing TCU to play in San Diego is stupid when they could take 25,000 to a regional bowl. Bowls should be free to let themselves chose teams which make the most sense regionally or based upon other factors which might make a team financially desireable. ex pitting a June Jones coached SMU v. Hawaii. But to allow the matchups to make sense a BCS school like say UT might be forced to play a very competent team like TCU-and the Big Boys can't handle being embarrassed

agree with that Stallion as they should be regional, but need to just do without these other dumb bowls (New Mexico, etc).

The tie-ins should be local conference, but now that is out of the possibility too.

I agree with Stallion's regional idea. It still bothers me that we are not that far away in Birmingham and still will not travel well. Doing my part and hope others will as well. Doing it because I love watching SMU play and win. Particularly in post season play.

Currently, I am 2-2 at personally being at SMU bowl games. I really hope to break out of the .500 with this game.

All in Dallas are always late to arrive and late to purchase tickets.....it will get better. I haven't bought mine yet and have talked to others that haven't got theirs yet....it will happen late but we will be ok.

This doesn't surprise me.
Remember reading in one of the Honolulu papers the week of the 09 game that Nevada had bought 50 tickets officially from their allotment.

Hawaii Bowl should try to target UH and a service academy if they want to sell tickets.
