Klemm is not pulling any punches. I know he's doing his job but he seems determined to prove he holds sway over these kids, not June ( I think we all already knew this). Makes those rumors about it being an acrimonious divorce between JJ and Klemm ring true.

I'd say it's worth talking about if he's not coming here because of actions or inaction on the part of our coaching staff that's still employed here. Yes, we went over the fact that it's a dead period. But, on a bit deeper reflection there was no way for our staff, at any point, in any capacity, in any way, to say to one of the top five 2013 QBs and a guy who committed with the intention of building a superb class around him, that we still love him and want him to come here?

Oh well. He's still not coming here and our screaming at the wailing wall isn't going to change anything.

I'm excited for the kid because he doesn't know what the hell he is doing and is just starting to learn about how the freaking recruiting process is working.

The Klemm movement on the SMU recruits is either going to do one of two things for this staff:

1. The group either responds and steps it up and realizes that it has to do a better job especially in Texas.

2. The group reacts and realizes that it's recruiting efforts are bad and the dead weight coaches need to go and will keep chasing their tails.

Notice how I used respond and react differently.

But I also think Klemm's focus of inner city Los Angeles was a mistake -- whether that was his call or Jones' call. To me, it doesn't matter. It was a flawed philosophy in my opinion.

If your best recruiter is not pounding the pavement in your backyard, then you have a problem.

Better to rip the band aid clean off, admit the mistakes and be better for it.

I know it sounds too good to be true, especially since you have a head coach whose loyalty to anything remains very questionable in my view.

I just really wish Jones had left so we could have emerged from the dark cloud that is him.

Now, we're stuck with him.

For someone with such a huge ego as JJ's and such a long track record of doing things 'his way', you sure are asking for a lot of changes, especially from someone so late in their coaching career.

Of course there is always another option which I feel is the most likely.

Take the path of least resistance while cashing in big paycheck.

I am judging JJ now by how our players respond in our Bowl Game and how he finishes this recruiting class.

I guess it could be considered a setup because there's very little chance this guy is going to do any of that.

I accused him of being more concerned about checking the direct deposits than really working. So far, he hasn't proven me to be wrong.

I'm sure he's trying to say the right things and check out humility and see how long he can wear it. But that won't last too long.

Right now, I'm tuning him out. I don't care what he says and how he says it. His actions will be the only way he should be judged here.

The honeymoon is OVER, June. Get off your fat [deleted] and do something.

Technically he is still listed as committed to SMU. He has just re-opened his recruiting.

Wonder how long until USC tempts Klemm away from UCLA. Can't imagine they will be happy to watch him work in their own backyard.

Have heard the attempts to say the right things, haven't heard the humility yet.

Let's see how the team responds to him and most importantly, how this recruiting class turns out.

He should be judged pre and post ASU.

Please make your posts longer! I printed it out and could not quite paper my entire garage floor.

Mitch McConnell wrote:I'm excited for the kid because he doesn't know what the hell he is doing and is just starting to learn about how the freaking recruiting process is working.

Wrong. I believe his dad is a coach at some level, and by all accounts is pretty savvy regarding the recruiting process.

Mitch McConnell wrote:The Klemm movement on the SMU recruits is either going to do one of two things for this staff:

Wrong. Again. Get the best players who want to be at SMU, regardless of where they're from.

Mitch McConnell wrote:2. The group reacts and realizes that it's recruiting efforts are bad and the dead weight coaches need to go and will keep chasing their tails.

The group will realize this? What ... in a staff meeting? So they'll all tell each other to quit? Sure -- sounds likely.

Mitch McConnell wrote:Notice how I used respond and react differently.

Got it -- another post that is not based on what you said, but rather on the fact that you're the one who said it. My life is now complete.

Mitch McConnell wrote:But I also think Klemm's focus of inner city Los Angeles was a mistake -- whether that was his call or Jones' call. To me, it doesn't matter. It was a flawed philosophy in my opinion.

Wait ... you're not on board with Coach Jones and his staff? Really? While we're at it, I heard about a band that came over from Liverpool and made quite a splash with the kids in this country.

Mitch McConnell wrote:If your best recruiter is not pounding the pavement in your backyard, then you have a problem.

Get your best recruiter out recruiting the best kids who want to be here. Stop freaking out about which state players come from.

Seriously? "Too good to be true"? You have clubbed the carcass of a dead horse for years, repeating the same half dozen tired messages for eons.

Hold the phone ... you wanted Coach Jones to leave? How come we haven't read that message 163,824,623 other times? Oh wait ... we have.

It pains me, too, to be stuck with a coach who keeps getting us to bowl games. I'm going to be in Atlanta in January, and I'm driving over ... and I can't wait.

I'm always amazed by people who spend the time to take a post and argue it point by point by doing all of the little coding and deleting and responding...

That's pretty impressive work.

Now what were you saying again?

Notice how the talk of 2012 being a step back has gone silent. That's interesting.

Now, that means he's going to actually have to do some work.

I am curious about something. If this is indeed a 'dead' period and no contact is allowed how is it that Printz was just offered by ucla? I understand that they could have just sent the offer in the mail but that seems kind of cold without any personal contact. Could ucla be violating contact rules?

GO PONIES!!!
