JUCO DE VerbalTroy Therian, 603, 240 DE from Seirra College, CA has given his verbal to us. He was also considering UTEP, Cal, and Sacramento State.
I believe this is who Alex Lifeson was teasing us about.
Re:
I think he can sign at will...but maybe there was a signing period, and now he has to wait until the FR signing date.

I saw he was First Team All-Conference but I don't think I recognize another school in his conference-except for the unusal name of the College of the Redwoods. Any Californians want to give us a rundown on the level of play in that league.
You got it! Troy will have three years to play, and will be in school in January! Heard he reminds coaches of Luke Johnson. Congratulations Coach Adami, and the rest of the staff!
Re:I believe you are refering to the first date a JUCO can sign a letter of intent which this year was December 15th. My understanding is that the JUCO signing period for football is from 12/15 thru 1/15.
Nice! It's clear that Coach Price (UTEP) can evaluate talent, and it sounds like they offer every good JUCO player alive. Good job Coach Adami!
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
Thanks PK for clearing that up for me. I am new to all this JUCO stuff. So I guess we can hope for more.

Re:You are welcome, but as I said, that's just my understanding...I hope I'm right and that we get a few more JUCO's in here. I had heard that there were several OL's they were after too, so I hope we are able to get them and that I'm right and they CAN still sign. Time will tell.
For you Pony Fans, just some info on Sierra. It is in the Sacramento Valley area. Rocklin is just east of Sac. I used to live nearby in Folsom, CA. The area has been producing more and more quality players. Just a few years back I was wishing SMU could recruit a kid from nearby Granite Bay. His name is Dallas Sartz. (Unfortunately, he ended up at usc.) These schools (Sierra, Sac., et. al) are places where some kids have ended up if they haven't been recruited by the bigger schools they dreamed of. (Or they didn't quite make grades.) Best example is Seneca Wallace, who played at Sac City. Sierra was also the longtime home for the SF 49ers summer camp.
The Sacramento area has some good pickings, so to me this bodes well. Good for SMU! Boise St. HC Haskins came from the Sac area, and has been trying to lure talent to his program. Also, fresno st. has gotten a lot of kids from the Sac area. Pinegar came from nearby Davis. Go Ponies! Last edited by No Cal Pony on Tue Dec 28, 2004 11:44 am, edited 1 time in total.
