Kareem Muhammad - OL Dallas Lincoln

Postby LA_Mustang » Sat Dec 18, 2004 5:11 pm

I'm listening to the Lincoln/Kilgore 4A state championship game and the announcers just mentioned that SMU, TCU and Baylor are recruiting Muhammad. Anyone have more info?

no info on Rivals but several Lincoln games have been cable access in Dallas and its hard not to notice this kid if he's the one I'm thinking of. He looks every bit the 6-4, 300 4.9 he is listed as in Texas Football. Quite frankly if he really had that size and speed it would be hard to imagine he wasn't a 4 star player if he could play a lick.

I think that size is legit. The kid is absolutely enormous.
Better yet, he's already been on campus (not an official visit, but he's been there) .... and I think he's only 17 years old. I would think if there's any way to get him .... the possibilities (as a blocker and in terms of opening a DISD pipeline) are enormous.

There seems to be something up. If this guy is big and can play, why isn't he a hot prospect. What are his grades like???

I heard his grades are OK, but I don't know about any test scores. Maybe there's a holdup there? He sounds like the kind of guy we should try to make room for. From what I gather, Lincoln's offense doesn't require its linemen to just stand there and be huge - they have to be able to move. If he's this big and can move, we should do whatever we can to get him to SMU!

This may be one of those situations where we need to offer given the condition that he makes an acceptable SAT or ACT score.

SAT of 1000 and an ACT of 18 sound good enough. I should really stay away from the SAT, ACT scores... those might be high or low.

What are the NCAA standards for ACT and SAT?

I liked his quote in the DMN today

That was a Michael Thompson quote. Kareem was not all-area & Stallion, Thompson is the kid that is 6-4 320. Kareem is barely pushing 240.

yep you're right-the Lincoln/ Sulpher Springs playoff game at Ford was on cable access again yesterday and Thompson(Jr)- not Muhammad- is the Mountain that you can't help but notice -looks like an NFL First Draft choice getting off the bus as Ron Meyer used to say. Muhammad looks like he has good height-although I thought he weighed more than you stated. He's very raw it looks to me-especially when you compare him to an Enright who I watched last week. Thompson is overpowering but again he needs polish. I wouldn't be surprised though if he were not among the most highly recruited lineman in the country next year. Lincoln runs their entire offense behind him. (PS I noticed the DMN All DFW Metro team has Thompson listed as a Senior but I thought I heard on the broadcast he was a junior-anybody know for sure?)

I am a sideline reporter for Aledo and I was obviously on the for the Aledo/Lincoln semifinals game and this kids is very good, he is enormous and has good field awareness... granted the lincoln line overmatched Aledo's by about 60 lbs a man they never even got close to Eaton and Aledo has a 6'1 265 DL who I am thrilled about and even contacted the coaching staff to take a look at him
