Re: Klemm Who?
So wait-? We've got a rah-rah poster smugly arguing that the posters who demanded younger, more energenic new Texas blood were wrong because there is a rumor that June Jones might hire a guy like Jason Phillips whose name was raised as an example several weeks ago. Here's the deal-a good portion of June Jones' staff needs to given a retirement package and SMU needs to hire about 3 Jason Phillips to compete in the Big East

Around here? People will find a way to take credit away from Jones, by saying either Orsini or CoC ordered the hire over Jones' head, or that Phillips offered himself to Jones and that Jones had no choice but to hire him.
Of course, if it was anybody but Phillips, this would be Jones only hiring his buddies and no one else.

I assume you are talking about me. I did not say they were wrong, in fact I said I liked the fact that he was a texas focused recruiter. Gord referenced everyone who said we would fall off the football earth without klemm.
RGV claimed that without the heightened sense of urgency, presumably from the fall off the football earth crowd, then we would have in fact fallen off the football earth.
I just think it is funny he is trying to give the fall off the football earth crowd the credit for the rumored/hopeful hiring of Phillips without presenting any evidence that they made any difference.

uh...hope you dont mind if i dont try to sort through that useless pile of blame and credit and just say i hope this is true and it would be really exciting to see him hit the ground running with a few in tow.
Agree with stallion - we need a couple of more. Hope some COC can float us a short term bone until the BE cash truck backs up....

Can claim whatever I damn well please pal, its a fn message board for crying out loud. You have your opinion, I have mine. You really think June showed up with a damn transparency because of a reason other than hed heard rumblings that the impending loss of klemm would suck ?
Just because someone doesn't share your opinion does not mean their point of view is doomed to be tossed because of what you feel is a lack of evidence.
I didn't give any 'crowd' credit. Feigned it not, June himself had donned an aura of a 'rededication, and sure maybe he came up with that irrespective of the input from the cofc or whomever.

As you said, it is a message board, no reason to get so upset.
All I said was that I thought your post in response to Gord's post was funny because with that logic you can never be proven wrong. People predict A is going to happen. A does not happen and Gord posts about it. Your response was that if the people had not predicted A happening, then it would have happened. Sort of circular. Not a big deal, sorry if it upset you, that was not my intention.
I am the person who asked the question that he said the transparency would answer, I agree with you that he showed up with it to reassure people that they could succeed without klemm. Not sure why you think i thought otherwise. Lot's of people seemed to think it was to denigrate klemm, but I agree with you that it was to try to show people that we had managed to go 7-5 without klemm's recruits. It in no way answered the question of course, which is why many concluded that he already knew klemm was gone.

I don't mean to go back to this, but did the transparency actually have Bennet's name next to some of the recruits?

yes. The whole O-line save for McJunkin, for instance

Wasn't McJunkin Bennett also?
I think we will be fine on the OL next year. My biggest concern was center due to the play calling and if McJunkin is back I think we are covered.

No, McJunkin committed a few weeks after June got here.

you just did - Bennett was all over his little transparency. Granted they were all the starters and seniors. His best players have been Bennett's so far.
