Hotel Highland...used to be the Pickwick. Why does everybody think Birmingham is so backwoods?

So what are you looking to spend for your hotel is the better question. Sheraton is still $93 and Aloft is $110. As for why there is so much confusion with Birmingham, I am assuming that it is not a common destination for most of the members on here. I know in all my travels I have had to hit Birmingham twice for business. Nothing wrong with Birmingham. One of the better places to visit and had a good time when I was there last. Beats the hell out of Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Salt Lake City that's for sure. It's in the South and everyone is friendly and the food is good and there is plenty of booze. So relax and have a good time. If you need rate help on the hotels let me know and I can hook you up in most cases at the major chains with discounted hotel codes from my company. Well at least at the Starwood, Hyatt, and Hilton properties.

I saw 200 a night at the Sheraton. How did you get 93?

Just got the Aloft for $119...two people is just $60 a person. Not bad. Less than what I spent in Memphis.

I just booked my hotel. 4 people staying at the Highland Hotel downtown. $129.99. Not bad at all. Plus no need to get a cab. You can walk to bars.

Sheraton and Aloft can use corp code 18000. Turns the Sheraton into $93 a night. Turns Aloft into $110.
