What happened to?

Anthony Barnett, RB, and James Elliot, DB, who were highly respected recruits in 2002? Are they still at SMU?

Barnett is gone. He was academically ineligible last semester, he could have stayed and brought his grades up here in the spring, but chose to leave.

Elliott I barely even remember. I dont think he ever played a down. He's not on the roster now, but I dont remember ever hearing that he left. Its a Mystery. I skimmed through the names of that recruiting class a few weeks ago, it was interesting to see how many had departed.

Thanks for your info. it is amazing how much importance we place on these "Blue Chip" recruits only to find out many never play a down. Much more important (and more difficult, I guess) to find guys who "develop" and manage to stay healthy and in schoool.
