Re:
Didn't Teasley commit shortly after Chris announced his initial commit to TCU in Aug?
MWCAny smart SMU fan would have jumped at the MWC, considering that we were in the WAC (Worst Athletic Conference). But, the CUSA (at least the East Division) is solid.
I bet that SMU would pick the CUSA over the MWC because they actually have some common sense (although, with Bennett's extension, I'm not granting them a whole lot of CS. I mean, come on, go 4 and 20 [just a guess] and you get two more years. Phoey.).
Yeah, sure, the MWC is the answer. It will be a recruiting haven for TCU.
Whether Patterson is the answer remains to be seen-- but the conference will not help TCU FB. Seriously, the Frogs will come back begging to the CUSA. Within 5 years, NTx, TCU & Baylor will be looking for a new conference home...
Baylor won't be looking. Why give up that Big paycheck they are getting from the Big XII? The Big XII would be hard pressed to dump them. The SEC keeps Vandy around. The Big Ten keeps Northwestern around. The ACC keeps Duke around (but they do earn their keep in basketball). The BE keeps Rutgers around. Also, who would replace Baylor? The Big XII will not pick Tulsa, Tulane, UTEP,TCU, SMU, or Rice. Arkansas, maybe, but why would they jump from the SEC to the Big XII? The Big XII teams like the fact that they have at least one doormat they can depend on to usually lose to them because that makes seven other teams more likely to be bowl eligible.
This subject comes up all the time and is always comical - nobody is leaving the Big 12 voluntarily, and there is zero pressure to push out Baylor from the others. No way would Arkansas leave the SEC - they get more money there then they would anywhere else.
