I will always root against any team coached by Mike Leach.
With that said, what they're doing to Cal is pretty damn impressive. They're beating the #4 team in the country a whole lot worse than they beat us.
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!

Congrats to Stallion's other team.

I need to get a graduate degree from another school so I can have fun in the post-season. Maybe I can get an online degree from OU or something like that.

Try the University of Phoenix for that online degree...oh, wait. I don't think they field a football team.

Same ol' Leach, though. Less than 2 minutes left in the game...it's in the bag and he has Cumbie throw another TD. I dunno...against the #4 team maybe it made more sense than against us...comments?

I sure did get tired of Craig James referring to 'the game I played in' so many times...did he EVER mention it was SMU v. BYU? Maybe it was better left unsaid.

Did you see them show actual footage of that game? Showed a good bit of Craig running for 200+ in that game.

I hear Alex Lifeson has a Texas Tech Babe who really cuts loose when the Red Raiders win. Anyway, it should be interesting to watch that program-they are really starting to get a much higher caliber of player which signals even more competitive Tech teams. I can't believe there is not a program which has made a run at Leach. He has done about as well with "good talent" as one could expect. If he ever gets the top talent or they shore up the defense, I think he could be unstoppable.

It was the hurry up offense that bothered me.

A graduate degree always gives one choices in life. My grad instituion, William and Mary, had a great run this year in the 1-AA's.

My graduate degree is from Univ. of Houston. Even when Houston is good, I will stick to the ponies, thanks.

Illinois considered him -- at one point he was said to be "at the top" of their wish list -- before they eventually hired Ron Zook.

I did notice Taurean Henderson running the ball on the last couple of plays. Maybe Leach was afraid Tedford (Cal coach) would "go Bennett on him" after the game if he threw the ball again.

I've never had any feelings one way or the other about Cal, but I was definitely pulling for the Golden Bears last night.

You are correct Stallion, my wife is a Tech alum. The Red Raiders are my second favorite team now, and it was a fun night! She wears SMU stuff, and went to EIGHT SMU football games this past year, including sitting in the rain against Nevada! I took her to Lubbock to see the Okie St. vs Tech game for being so good all year. My little Raider/Pony girl rocks!!!! :D

I dated a girl from Tech. Well, not so much dated, but.... I think she used to work for the FBI. She clearly learned from the best; I think she studied under Hoover.

Word is that Leach will not leave Lubbock until after his kids graduate from high school. Apparently his wife has laid the law down on this. So, at least another 3 years before the Leach's even consider calling Mayflower.

Kathy's back because (a) SMU did not go to an bowl game; and (b) when given the opportunity to spill the beans about "Big News concerning SMU football" before a certain deadline, no one PM'd me with the scoop and I carried out my threat to bring her back. Thus, she's back. And she stays.

Tell you what. If SMU goes to the NCAA's in MEN'S basketball, then Kathy will go on hiatus for an extended period of time. Otherwise, the rule that she is only replaced after an SMU football win stands. And the spring game doesn't count!
