for the life of me I have never understood why College Football shies away from promoting its championship game to achieve maximum exposure. Rather than play on a Tuesday Nite when kids have homework, parents are just getting off work etc why not make it a unique day celebrating College Football and the Big Game? Start it at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon.

I agree. But sadly, it's the damn BCS and TV ratings that drive this stuff now, not the fans.

Perhaps they must bow down before the NFL money Gods (read: TV networks) as that novel idea of a FB "Playoff" starts next weekend...

That's what I thought. My understanding is that the whole reason college games are played (mostly) on Saturdays is to avoid competing with the NFL.
