After the game, the PA announcer called the final score 28-17. Some maybe they were just passing the crack pipe around in the broadcast booth.

Yep- in the beginning they talked like a bunch of Pitt homers but when we started kicking butt they had to back off and start saying good things about us.

Nice to know the analyst, Marino's backup at the 1983 Cotton Bowl, got to see history repeat itself.

I thought he was OK. PBP Mike Gleason - not good. He used to be the studio host on the Big 10 ESPN plus package.

I guess he is espn's eighth or ninth analyst on their depth chart

Watched the replay. Thought they did an adequate job. Very insightful about SMU's capabilities and that we utilized our strengths.

I thought the analyst was OK. He loved our defense. The PBP guy was a bit messy. Sideline guy was solid. Did a nice job w Dickerson and did his job getting the information on Williams injury. I'm kinda surprised we released the info but maybe we did given the severity.

Not surprised. If one knows what to look for it is obvious that Williams femur was fractured. I know HIPPA stuff precludes discussing health information without consent but it was just too obvious to hide the true injury. The fact that one witnessed the injury and it was very public makes it difficult to ignore the obvious. They didn't give treatment information which is appropriate. They did say which hospital they were taking him to but this too would have been public information available prior to the game (where injured players would be taken if necessary).

Your memory is a bit faulty. He got himself into shape and was part of the vaunted HOGS offensive line that led the Redskins to four Super Bowl appearances. He blew out his knee toward the end, but was there for at least 3 of those Super Bowls. May, Jacoby, Bostick, Grimm and Starke and then May moved to Right tackle and Lachay took over. Finally, Jacoby moved to right tackle the last year they were all together. Remember the Redskins had three different QB's, (Theisman, Williams, and Rypien) three different running backs (Riggins, Rogers, Tim Smith), different wide-outs except Monk. But the constant was the Hogs. That's why I have long said, you gotta have the big uglies up front.
