If we or any school could send 5-10+K to all its bowl appearances, more invitations would be forthcoming. Big Ten alums/fans show up and the Bowl committee want and need that $. Do not confuse who deserve it vs. how the Bowls raise money, especially the BCS and other major bowls, who are supported by Big 10, SEC, Big XII and Pac12. ACC and especially the BE are second tier in attendance and the non-BCS a notch below.

Sun Bowl v. Fiesta Bowl invite as I recall in our past for this very reason^...
