Practice Squad Retained

The Cowboys quickly signed four practice squad players Tuesday, retaining their rights for next season.

The Cowboys signed defensive tackle Jermaine Brooks, running back Keylon Kincade, tight end Landon Trusty and cornerback Lenny Williams.

Practice squad players become free agents at the end of the season and can sign with any team. That is why the Cowboys used open spots on the 53-man roster the final two weeks to sign safety Steve Cargile, wide receiver Tom Crowder, fullback Lousaka Polite and defensive tackle Tron LeFavor off their practice squad.

Only Polite played against the Giants, the rookie fullback catching a four-yard pass and playing extensively in the second half. Polite, who went to camp with the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie, often times was the lead blocker for Julius Jones, who rushed for 149 yards against the Giants.

The only player the Cowboys did not re-sign from the practice squad is cornerback Jeff Sanchez.
