How would Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's kid know anything about UH recruiting?

We're SMU football. More often than not, we don't get the breaks. Really disappointed with news over the last couple of days. I thought I was being realistically hopeful by even putting a top 30 option, but that was quite silly.

don't have access to the article, but did see that they are discussing Trevon Stewart.

From his twitter:

Mike Coppage @MikeCoppage 55m
@Trstewart23 Lloyd said he might commit to Tech on Sunday.

different situation. don't have any ill feelings toward wsu/leach. we lost those recruits because of the other nonsense that went on, not because he was trying to poach our recruits.

Well looks like that will be at least one that we will not be able to go for.

Well it looks like this class will be ranked similar to PB's 1st class (Joe Sturdivant class) which if you ask me is rather poor considering:

Relaxing of the Model
3 straight bowl appearances and all the national pub we have received over this time
Acceptance into BE
JJ name recognition
JJ and his staff are being paid top dollar vs PB and his staff (Isn't JJ being paid 3*+ what PB was)

I think the question Nick was proposing after the ASU fiasco was would you prefer someone like Jason Phillips as your HC and AK as your OC or JJ as HC with JB on your staff. That was a legit question.

Klemm leaving hurt us in ranking no doubt about it but we wernt going to stay ranked in the 30s no matter what most schools hadnt signed alot of kids yet .Where we had 20 signed there were some right below us with only 11 or 12

Speaking from going thru a couple seasons of numbers, in the end it really doesn't matter. Yea it would be nice to say SMU is ranked with a high class, which is based on "star" rating. Star ratings are really not based on talent, they reply on the number of offers you receive. Yes, talent does have some influence, but I know a kid who has 30 plus offers, ranked near top player in a State, is in top 200 in Country, that isnt even close to being a good football player. If you start to pull in offers as soph then junior, you are on the rising star list.
Case in point. Gehrig will be arriving tomorrow at SMU. This year he is Parade All American, MaxPreps 1st team, SI.Com 2nd team, ESPNHS 3rd team. He set 5 State records and 2 National records. (Very proud of all those byt he way)
Taking all those into consideration, Parade took 6 wr's, MaxPreps 3 on 1st team, SI.Com he is at worst 4th in country, 6th according to ESPNHS.
Yet Scout has him at 104 in the Country as a receiver... Is it based on talent, maybe a little but offers rasie and lower the star rankings.
SMU will have a great class of hard working 3 star kids... Some 4-5 star kids I watched all summer are not that good...lot of this does boil down to hype and how each service writes about a player. The 3 star kids for the most part are the blue collar kids that we want to go to battle with.

After the recruiting fall out/expectations, THIS ^ is what I'm going with: "SMU is 1 of only 3 other schools in the country to get two or more Parade All Americans!" (assuming that's true). ;-)

now with Lewis off our list-SMU dropped just about like I predicted. Currently No. 79 on Rivals.

Three bowl wins, joining a BCS league, and playing in a "wide open offense" doesn't get you what it used to, I guess. Gets you about what some guy got at SMU in 2006 making 25% of what his successor does that had a more stringent framework to deal with.
