It's been alleged that he and Sumlin clashed and that Sumlin recommeding the ST coordinator take over for him.

Re: Phillips' recruits
I am really surprise UH took a special team coordinator as HC. Why did they take him over an alum with a great recruiting reputation? Did he do any recruiting? Any thoughts what levine brings to the table that Phillips does not? I am certainly glad things shook out the way they did. Looking forward to him hitting the trail for us.

Stud recruiters don't necessarily make stud HCs, which is why I never understood the plea to make Klemm HC.

Agreed. HC is a totally different skill set. I think JP and JJ working together will become a beautiful thing - the receivers that are coming up now in our program (FRs in 2011-2012-2013) will most likely rewrite the history books at SMU if we can keep this together long enough.PonyPlayer4 wrote:Stud recruiters don't necessarily make stud HCs, which is why I never understood the plea to make Klemm HC.

We have plenty of room. Sign whoever we can get out of those kids if we think they can contribute
