Burger wars, re-visitedModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Burger wars, re-visitedWonder if I can get away with "Chairman of the Boards"
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedHall of Fame Memeber, drinking 128 oz. of Margarita in one sitting.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Burger wars, re-visited
2 for 1 chicken fried chicken/steak and 2 for 1 margaritas, yeah? I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.
Re: Burger wars, re-visited
What? That can't be humanly possible, can it? I remember Judge Roy Bean's. Don't remember their burgers, though. Not sure I ever had one there. HOORAY, BEER!
Re: Burger wars, re-visited
Seriously. Don't do it, man. It's not worth getting booted from the site. HOORAY, BEER!
Burger wars, re-visited
IIRC, Mariano's Old Town had a similar challenge. I have a huge margarita glass in my closet that I earned from them somehow. That was a fun place.
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedDidn't Mariano's actually claim to have invented the margarita?
Seems far-fetced to me, but I thought I remember that claim. Thinking of trying Elevation Burger tonight.
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedMariano's invented the FROZEN margarita. The original machine (an old Slurpee machine) that was used to mix up the drinks at the Old Town Shopping Center location is now part of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. It was on display in the Hall of State at the 2011 State Fair of Texas. Mariano's is still in business but at a different location. No longer in Old Town Shopping Center. Now on Skillman Ave. just before you get to Abrams Road. Still great food and drinks! We dined there earlier this week. ![]() Elevation Burger? Hope you enjoy Park Cities rugrats running all over the place while you try to eat. And the food? Meh.
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedI think I could have majored in Mariano's happy hours. Seems like there was a group of us there nearly every day when HH started. Loved their margarita's!
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedBest Hamburger in Dallas? Would you believe of all places, a Sushi Restaurant? Go check out the cheeseburger at Naan Sushi down on Cedar Springs across from Mattitos. This baby is made with Kobe beef, cheddar cheese, fried onion ring, slice of bacon, lettuce and tomato, all finished off with a layer of chopped prime rib. Dang it was good. Just tried it over the weekend. The owner used to own a steakhouse. That is how a great hamburger ended up at a great Sushi place.
