I think we all freely admit we are worlds better than we were before he got here and I think we are grateful for that. However, that does not excuse all the other crap that has been going on. We could be better than we are. Sorry if a lot of us aren't content with mediocrity. There are major concerns within certain aspects of this program. You can choose to ignore them if you like. Go back and look at Tulsa and Southern Miss and tell me he cared then or Army last year. I saw the Pitt game and several interviews since operation Screw SMU and what I saw was a rededicated and focused June. What I am seeing now isn't. We are going to take a step back in recruiting this year. You aren't looking at the big picture, you are looking at the past. I don't necessarily want him gone, I want him to hire a staff that is willing to recruit and knows Texas, I want him to continue to have the focus that he did for the Pitt game, I wanted him to not just waive the white flag when it came to our klemm recruits, and I want him not to spend a weekend in Hawaii when he has recruits visiting and could be having a major recruiting weekend or making in home visits. I do not want the man to fail. Nothing would make me happier if he was here for the next ten years and we were winning 9+ games a year.

As far as other coaches go, SMU was contacted by supposedly 2 dozen or so highly qualified replacements. I personally would like to see that list.

Yeah 4 to 5 more years of 8 wins and recruiting classes ranked in the 80s will definitely make SMU a more attractive job.

I am with you goldenstang. I want SMU to be successful and if June is our coach, I want him to be successful also. You cant go very far without the right athletes. It looked like we were on track to take the next step, but now the class is looking less exciting. I know a lot of kids have commented positively on the lay back style of coaching but i think the recruiting needs a greater sense of urgency and we just dont get the impression that exists.
