And before anyone mistakes it, I'm not trying to be negative or anything. I'm just tired of this board seesawing from being overly jubilant after a win to demanding that the coach be fired on the spot after a loss

CalallenStang wrote:Too many people on this board have no idea of the context of college hoops. They complain about our lousy OOC schedule when many of the so-called top-tier programs play a similarly laughable schedule. Then they think that a win over UH is a good win.

Guess what? UH is 26 places behind us in RPI. We were supposed to win/blow them out...especially at home. The only reason everyone is so happy is because too many times in recent years, we have lost laughable games, and so now people are happy win any win that comes against a team that people know. Never mind the fact that Houston is worse this year than freakin' Florida Gulf Coast.

We have @ Memphis coming up on Saturday. If we win that, THAT will be a win worth celebrating.

Always evaluate this program in its context.

A separation of 26 spots in the RPI given that both of us are in the 200s is pretty inmaterial in my view. Both of us are what we are -- teams hovering around .500 and just running around doing stuff.

So the win is fine. A lot of us understand the big picture here and where this program stands.

But please don't lessen the enthusiasm after this win given the arse kicking by Rice and nut kicker at UTEP.

They won!

Not sure if it was mentioned already, but big props to the Pikes and SAE's. SAE's especially. Amazing what just 40 or so students can do at Moody. If we had 100 students at every game, that place could be rocking.

Thanks, guys, for staying loud the whole time. I know you were probably made to go by your house, but I hope you keep coming back.

Who was that picture of they were holding up? THat was some hilarious stuff.

Just having a few organized rowdy students makes all the difference in the World to the atmosphere. Made the crowd seem larger than normal and got everyone involved.

Nice win and probably best all around effort of the year.

Think Doh has the rotation figured out now. Samp, WIlliams, Giles, Nyk, and Jones work well as the starters and SMith, Pats and Manuel are the next off the bench.

Samp had a great game and is getting better and better. Early on, Manual had a chance to run the point and somehow managed to turn it over every time he touched it, so Samp had to come back and run things. We just have to accept that Jerimiah is a pretty good point gaurd who is only getting better. Manuel needs to be first off the bench as the two gaurd.

Suprised how little Van Slyke played for Houston, I remember him lighting us up last year and tonight when he was in, he seemed like their only consistent scorer, he just didnt get many minutes.

Looking forward to Memphis on Saturday, see how we play against top tier C-USA competition.

3 quarters? The last time I checked the college game isn't played by quarters.

I haven't been following everything too closely recently. Are we going to see Vilde much any more this year?

Not likely,

Most nights he hasn't made it off the bench, although he did get in some in that Rice game. We just have too many guys all about the same size with the same skill set.

Thanks, I liked the way he looked early on. But, yeah, you're right, he is probably not better than the guys ahead of him right now.

I am not going to even waste anymore of my valuable time debating Robert De Niro.

One, I do understand the transfer rules. Two, my comment on the Nick Russell thread wasn't addressed to you. I was responding to the poster who asked why we haven't seen Nick Russell.
Anything else I can help you with?

Laken and Kate, love to rip on SMU any chance they can...

Picture of fans in stands, I will say the blue seats were pretty full tonight comparatively.

Good win for the boys and looks more like Doh has settled in to a rotation now and the sets and teamwork seems more cohesive. Jalen Jones is attacking the paint and we have to appreciate his aggressiveness, his mistakes are hustle ones that are worth putting up with. Am glad Cotton got going tonight finally.
I really LOVED the Pikes and SAE's tonight! Please tell them that the Mustang Nation appreciate all of the energy at the game and keep it up.....pleeease! Bring more Frats out .......we love ya all! ( Sorority's? what else you gotta do?...)
