Lewis commits to WSU - Leach outrecruiting Jones

The pirate is firing at will on JJ. He is doing much more damage than Adrian Klemm. AK only has one 2012 recruit in Hulick and one 2013 recruit in Printz. Leach has gotten 4 former SMU recruits in Pettway, Palacio, Lewis, and Marks. And is making full force in home visits with 3 staff members to players like former SMU recruit Kenny Lawler.

Leach did what he had to do by cleaning house a WSU and cutting loose some of those lesser talented commits to make room for better players to help him win games because that is what he will be ultimately jugded on.

We should have dumped JJ immediately after the ASU fiasco and hired the pirate. He would do great here in Texas. Might be a good first choice next fall when JJ bails.

Leach is a very strong recruiter. You have to be to attract talented kids to places like Lubbock, Texas and Pullman, Washington. Don't get me wrong, they're both fine towns in some respects. But certainly not what every 18 year old dreams about as the place to spend their college years.

I'm curious to see what Leach can do in Pullman. WSU is so far behind just about everyone else in the PAC-12 that its going to be a tough road. But hey. . .who ever thought TTech would beat UT as many times as they did under Leach?

We're taking some lumps in recruiting from Klemm and Leach right now because we were working the west coast hard with Klemm. But ultimately if we focus on Texas and Louisiana I don't know how often our path will cross theirs in future years. My hope is that we will de-emphasis California in favor of Texas/LA. under Phillips. We'll see.

Leach was 2-8 versus Texas and 3-7 versus Oklahoma during his time at Tech, not exactly stellar. Everyone knows he made his bones at Tech by beating up on Big 12 lightweights and OOC tomato cans. I expect him to do the same at Wazzu.

SMU football could have taken the next serious step forward with this guy. What a miss. (in my opinion of course)
