PT- really? Now how much face time is a person going to get with SO or Turner unless you are part of the CofC? Most likely none and that is why good Mustang fans like Mestengo have gone elsewhere. SO and Turner are both fully aware that JJ was screwing SMU royally by talking to recruits about another school on our nickel. You can see how much impact that had. Wait til JJ starts beatching about 'no fans in the stands' - then people can tell him whose fault that is. We all want the best for our university and some of us feel that a little loyalty and proper ethics should be included as part of the job. GO PONIES!!!

That's great news too because I've been trying to build a strong program at my house and was trying to figure out how to do so.

Lassiter (Ga.) High quarterback Eddie Printz has verbally committed to UCLA, flipping from SMU, where he was recruited by Adrian Klemm. Klemm took to Twitter once more with an 8-clap - his Twitter has been pretty busy recently - but undoubtedly Printz' high school teammate, UCLA linebacker commit Kenny Orijoke, had some sway as well. UCLA gets the clap again

Wasn't the spin, or at least one of the stories floated when JJ was hired after Paul Johnson opted for Georgia Tech, something to the effect that SO had really wanted Jones all along and the rest was cover?
If I were a member of the CofC I might be angry with the football coach for never really being displaying much joy in being on the Hilltop, especially after the ASU debacle and departure of Klemm. With reference to Jones I have to wonder if his motive in coming to Dallas was to have a better chance to win a bowl game where the opponent was a BCS team.
On the other hand, if I were a Cof C member, I might be unhappy with the AD for the lack of progress in the BB program as well as for failing to take the measure of the person hired to coach football. Like someone else said, it does not matter much what anyone thinks except tor the CofC.
Either way I sure agree with those who expect Jones to depart in a year or so and who expect slippage in the calibre of the 2012 freshman footballl players. Looks like we'll be a long way from top thirty status - another thing I heard not so long ago - in that respect.

All the bs on this board about a kid that will end up at Georgia, Alabama or South Carlina which ever offers first if he has a good senior year. Daddy Printz likes to see his comments in the media.
THANK YOU....He was never coming here and if UCLA thinks they got him they're smoking you know what. ( which half of em probably are ) Next year is when we will start to see some improvement in recruiting. I mean really, we didn't even win our conference. Actually we got our [deleted] handed to us a few times and you think we're automatically suppose to get 4* kids. We should feel great about the 3* we're getting.

Don't fool yourself to make yourself feel better. He was at SMU because of Klemm and he is at ULCA because of Klemm. Connect the dots. If Klemm had stayed we would have gotten them but he did not and we have to move on and JP can make the same kind of impact in Texas. We should definitely go after 4 star kids because we will never get them if we don't try. We can have that woe is us we weren't and are going to get anything but middle of the road players mentality. We have to aim high and then go for the backup easier to get players when all else fails. Don't lose hope because JP can bring some 4* kids in here as well.

Why don't we just start paying players again? Learn from our mistakes and do a better job of hiding it. I seriously doubt the NCAA would have the balls to handout the death penalty again. Plus, you are a complete fool if you believe all the major programs aren't doing it.

I think we might be the only program in America that they wouldn't bat and eye about giving DP to again...but according to the by-laws, it'd have to come after a SECOND violation in so many years...care to play with fire?

Care to make it interesting? When Klemm and UCLA falls flat on their face next year and the Top 10 schools in the nation come a calling for Printz, he'll pop smoke so fast your head will spin. Secondly, I never said don't go after 4*'s, just don't cry like a little girl when we don't get them this year. Def go after them but be realistic when they bolt for a better coach or program right now. Next year when we go after them we'll actually get a few and the tides will turn. And if you want to start connecting the dots, how do you explain Marks and Lewis at WSU? Or is Klemm coaching there also?

We'd really only need to buy a few seed players to boost our level and get things going. Pick up a couple high profile guys and they'll cause other decent guys to follow them. Absolutely no reason this can't happen in basketball. Really, just getting 2 or 3 Big East level guys 1 year to start things off is the moral thing to do - getting humiliated in BE play is detrimental to the student athlete. A few guys to even the playing field would improve quality of life for everyone. It's the right thing to do.

The UCLA coaching staff as a whole did not want Marks or Lewis. Remember Marks was upset that he did not get a UCLA offer.
