Professors discuss changes to College FB

A 64 team FB playoff? BCS would fight it and the legal bills would mount, but the idea that freshman not play has merits.

I remain a fan of freshmen being ineligible to compete, especially in FB and BB where the adjustment is often great and it reduces the trend to "rent" players for one year before turning pro, especially in college BB. If we need to include non-revenue sports too, as I did, then I am OK.

In any case, the NFL and NBA have free 'minor' leagues in colleges, who have all the expenses and might lose their stars prematurely. I have no problem we pro's signing HS students and let colleges actually deliver degrees and the value of compeition.
