I don't know about that...our O-linemen would look pretty horrendous with their stomachs hanging over the top of those little speedos?

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I'm indifferent. I'll root for the team regardless of what they wear.
If we have to wear gaudy spacesuits like TCU in order to attract high profile recruits and play in BCS games, bring 'em on.

Get ready for:
We have a classic uniform that, more often than not, is mentioned on http://www.uni-watch.com/ with the likes of Alabama, LSU, USC, (yes, even) Texas and other uniform bastions of college football. I'm kinda tired of completely kowtowing to what 17-year-old kids like. If we catered to that, why not wear the helmets sideways, pants around our knees, skinny jean pants, Affliction jerseys and wheeley shoes. Come to our school for the education and/or to play football, because in this climate the uniform can and will change. Will the NCAA grant kids waivers on their eligibility of they want to change schools because they changed uniforms and he doesn't like it?
We sent back brick for Ford Stadium because it was the wrong shade of red. But yet, this same institution will allow NIke/Adidas/Coach Whomever to jack with uniforms and colors. That just does;t make a lot of sense.
- Black helmets with a horse's mane.
Peruna (black iridescent) jerseys.
Hula-skirt pants (borrowed that from Uni-Watch special on CBS.)

Anybody got pictures yet?

I like Couchem's old graphic drawing on EA sports of Mustang unis.

I hope Nike takes those 20 or 30 stripes off the sleeves. That was way too busy.

All NIKE uniform submissions are subject to the approval of the school. You don't see UT football sporting a goofy uniform. They're NIKE and they maintain the traditional Darrell Royal uniform. (Interrupted only by Fred Akers and the pant stripes)

This team was super pumped to wear black for the bowl game a few years ago. I think they will likewise be super pumped to switch the look of the unis to something Oregon-esque

Re: SMU going back to Nike
I bet Nike really likes the look of our all-whites because they seem to be doing that type of look with a lot of their Pro Combat unis. Of course, they have to have a set with an over-size the Peruna or make it white with red-outline or something like that, but I doubt the all-white changes much.

Any chance we see pinstripes (SMU band jackets) start to be used as a secondary symbol for SMU the same way hounds-tooth has become a secondary symbol for 'Bama?

Those were Adidas unis. That's why we lost. LOL.
Glad to be with Nike for sure.

The hounds-tooth was because Bear B always wore his hounds-tooth hat. I guess if we were to follow suit our unis would have leis on the jerseys.

GO PONIES!!!
