VOICE OF MUSTANGS PASSES
In today's DMN obituaries section, David Delay has passed. He was the the announcer for SMU football. I think he did some basketball games as well. He was always at Mustang functions like the June Jones Monday lunches. Rest in peace David.
Re: VOICE OF MUSTANGS PASSES
Sorry to hear that news. He was a quality announcer and had some passion for the job.
Now, who replaces him? I'd like to see them hire the guy who hosts a pre-game show on the big video screens before Cowboys games. Don't know his name, but he has a big, booming professional announcer's voice. I would bet he's not unfamiliar with football, either.
And before you say it, I'm not talking about Roger Emrich. This is a different guy. Altho the Rahj would be pretty good, too.

The guy who does the soccer games or Dan Bell. They're both awesome.

I only knew Dave from June's luncheons, but he was a wonderful, friendly guy, and a true fan of the Mustangs. He will be missed.

The PA gig was his dream job. He elicited suggestions on pfs. RIP

Didn't know that was him. Thought he did good by trying to improve that way.

Very nice guy. Don't remember any other member of the SMU athletic department ever asking for our thoughts.

Re: VOICE OF MUSTANGS PASSES
He was doing the games as recent as 2011? Was this a long-time illness or sudden? Just would like to know.
I'm very sorry to hear this and extend my thoughts to his family.

I noticed his absence at the Rice bball game. Prior to that, I recall him being at moody this season. Also was at junesus' mea culpa luncheon
