I feel like I dropped the ball on this one. I waited too late before posting how much I wanted RL to become a Mustang.

Why don't we all just sign onto the WSU message board and announce ourselves as students and alums of WSU. Then we can bad mouth their school and get their players to decommit. Then we can do the same for schools all over the country. Soon all recruits will come to SMU.

Guess you have never been to Pullman huh? Lets see no violent crime, 300 days a year of sun, never gets above about 90 degrees and no humidity. 20,000 kids in a town the size of some campuses, now that is an experience. Yeah it is in the middle of no where, but that is what makes it a true college town as only about 7000 people are permanent residents. The downtown has not changed since 1930 and you would swear Barney Fife would be walking the 2 block main drag. If you can find a kid that spent their years at WSU and hated Pullman, good luck cause there ain't many.

There is a reason our fans created a foundation to donate money to so we can Fed Ex a flag all over the country to alums who volunteer their time and money to wave it on Gameday. It has been 8 long years since we spanked TX in the Holiday Bowl, but Cougar Pride endures. Not because our FB has been good, but because Pullman is a special place. It is our home for 4 years and that experience cannot be be duplicated anywhere in the PAC 12. WSU is Pullman and Pullman would not exist with WSU. Recruits see that and want to be part of our large family. Also Leach makes WSU instantly relevant as noted by landing kids from LA, TX and Fl in 2 months in his first recruiting class.

don't knock a small town/college town just because you prefer a metro area. Plenty to do in a "college town" and sometimes easier to "protect" kids as they learn to live away from home. Sent both my kids to Clemson and they thoroughly enjoyed their college experience. As much as I enjoyed SMU and Dallas, I found myself wondering at times how I might have enjoyed going to school in that kind of environment.

Bottom line is that Lewis is gone.

I hope Daijuan Stewart turns out to be a real "find" in this class. Looks to me like they are the same size & speed. Time will tell who develops into the player who will have an impact at he next level

I don't know much about WSU but at many small towns the student body and towns people support the team and show up for games. If you ever go to Lubbock go to any store in town and count the number of TT shirts and 'stuff'.

Pullman may be a dump but it's a Pac-12 dump and Lewis will be playing for a legit offensive guru against legit competition.

Clemson is <30 minutes from Greenville Spartanburg, one of the youngest and most rapidly growing metroplexes in the country. Yes, it's rural but only just. And I guarantee you don't have to take a propeller plane to get there.

"access" to Clemson is something the coaches have complained about for years (when it comes to recruiting disadvantages I hear them complain about). I know my son would make the 2 hr trip to Atlanta when he needed a "big city" fix

You are right that Pullman is a charming town, but offers nothing more than wheat fields planted aroung lava rocks. I guess an exotic date is going down to the John Deere dealer and showing your girlfriend a combine or maybe a tractor with a built in air conditioner. Yes, there is the fertilizer dealer with an assortment of spray tanks....etc. Bottom line is that there is little to do in Pullman but get into trouble and study. Trying to defended anything in Eastern Washington vs. Dallas is a futile discussion. I guess the real issue is where do your graduates find jobs? Pullman????? What networking affords WSU students access to jobs??? I am not trying to deminish WSU; however, there is absolutely no contest when it comes to academic preparation at SMU with small classes, a nationally ranked school, excellent faculty and huge networking to the Dallas and Texas job markets. Particularly in a state that has low corporate tax rates and a very friendly corporate atmosphere that is luring away hundreds of companies a month from California and the industrial north. A stable job market state for all academic pursuits. No contest if a student has a choice to attend either SMU or WSU if you truly look at the big picture and the reason you are attending college. SMU wins from every aspect.
