What a great story on Uzo! (Yet another reason to only read this site.)

I remember when Uzo was playing at SMU. We were outmanned every week, but whenever #98 made a tackle, the place got loud with "Uuuuuu-zooooo!" But rest assured, we were cheering for him as a player, not just because he has a unique name.

It's great to hear Uzo is still playing. Have a great season, and good luck getting back to the NFL.

Hey Bo 17 - what kind of stories do you remember (that you can share with us) about Uzo? What kind of teammate was he? Got any embarrassing memories of Uzo?

Uzo was the man! I was a year or two ahead of him in school, so I only got to see him for a couple of years. But he was great.

Uzo was our best player those first couple of years when football came back. He was always fun to watch. And impressive, too, when you consider how small he was when he started on the Hilltop.

You are all right on the money when you say Uzo was a great player. As a true freshman he played like a veteran. Uzo was so strong. He was not the biggest guy out there and he didn't pound the weights all the time, that guy was just born strong...naturally strong. I can just imagine now that he has been pounding weights over the year's how strong he is.

Uzo was always a quiet cool customer. He was by definition...Walk Quietly and carry a big stick. Well that's the way I rememeber him. I remember slamming a few beers back in my gameroom around my pooltable a few times with Uzo and the freshman crew of 90' ( Marcello Simmons, Marcus Malonson, Kevin Love, Kyle Carrol, Greg Hill, Korey Beard, Carey Brabham, D. Ware, Marty Kidd, Bulllet & several others).

They all rememeber the wild bashes Bo threw at his pad on Caruth. We always had to watch out however because at the time Coach Rossley lived about 15 houses down the street.

One time the Univ. Park Police showed up at the door and said we were being too loud and then realized half the football team was inside and gave us some slack.

Anyway...I ma happy to hear that Uzo is still in the game. It is hard to imagine that his body is still holding up to all the pounding. ****, I played in a Turkey Bowl this past Thanksgiving full contact no pads game and couldn't walk for a freakin week. Uzo..you truly are a stud...

From what Uzo told me, he's holding up really well, physically. He said injuries have been minimal, and that he feels great. Of course, we did the interview for this story before the season, so of course he doesn't have all the traditional bumps and bruises.

Uzo was a great guy to interview when he played at SMU, and he still is.

Glad to see a Mustang doing so well in the pros! Good luck in Montreal, Uzo.

I remember being skeptical when the coaches moved Uzo from defensive line to the offensive line. Looks like they made a great move.
Keep it up, Uzo.

Coach Bennett wants to bring former players back into the fold - why not have Uzo come talk to the team about how hard work pays off in the long run, and how quitting or giving up should never be an option!
