Justin Moore from Westlake in L.A. a 2013 QB that we have offered has given up football. Pretty sure Klemm offered this kid. I doubt we were still actively recruiting him but it doesn't matter now because he has decided to give up football.

Probably just depressed Klemm is no longer at SMU.

Re: SMU Target gives up Football (2013 QB)
I can relate to that on a smaller scale, my daughter who was counted on to be one of the leaders and top players on her HS Volleyball team this coming year has decided to drop volleyball. Ten months a year for the last five and a half years of playing, training and expectations of her and her own expectations she has had enough. Her mom and I were surprised as well as her coach and teammates. But the expectations she put on herself and the stress on the family was taking a toll on her. It was not that important to her anymore.
I played HS football in the late 70's at HP, so I understand expectations, but it was nothing like today. It has almost become a job to the kids instead of sports. I hope Justin finds happiness in his pursuits.

Student-athletes deserve a lot praise because they work very hard and give up a lot. I also had the opportunity to play NCAA but decided I wasn't going Pro so I didn't want to accept the multitude of sacrifices I would have to undertake. I totally understand that choice.

I take it back, this is the functional equivalent of having a starting QB decide to join a rock band instead of playing football.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
