Did JJ sign a new, 7 year extension?
Being reported on free chats on rivals and scout.
If this is true, i am suprised we did not get that info out there to help with some of the decommits and negative recuiting aginst us.

Maybe he'll settle in and his wanderlust disappears...

7 year extension!?!...was it for a bajillionfillion dollars? Just saying it sounds too silly to be true. How about 3 years? Jeebus, he acted like he was within an inch of either retiring or taking another job last year.

7-years! It better have no teeth or Orsini made a seriously bad move.
That type of extension is reserved for BCS bowl busting and National Championship winning coaches, not coaches who barely out run a .500 record and lay an egg in recruiting.
I get why these extensions happen, but it makes no sense if there is a buy-out attached. June always said himself this was a six year gig at most.

Can we all grow up and frigging forgive the guy who coaches our team? Glad to hear about the extension.

He'll be gone in December, no buyout=meaningless extension.

The contract should benefit both parties to it or what is the point. A generalized report on the agreement from Orsini is what is needed now to circumvent the option of turning this into another debacle.
Until we get some type of official report which should come soon. This is another sign that those in charge and the CofC are happy with the direction SMU football is going with Jones at the helm.
