I know I'm beating a dead horse

Postby LA_Mustang » Sat Feb 04, 2012 3:45 pm

But it's so frustrating watching Manuel sit on the bench while Frog gets big minutes. I have no problem with Frog's effort but Manuel is so much more talented.

And why do we constitantly get the worst refs in college bball. These guys are clueless.

1st time I can remember that there was no Game Thread.

Missed opportunities, things always seem to slip away consistently. Really frustrating to watch Rob, not sure if he is hurt but just never seems to really try to get open to shoot or demand the ball. He should have been shooting every shot the last couple of minutes, instead we get airballs, turnovers, and missed layups.

Really surprised they didn't post up every possession, our guys were much smaller.

You are welcome, I got 2 when they littered Ellis Fieldhouse that night. Good to see they are doing these giveaways.

No doubt. I see Doherty the same way I saw Bennett - a great guy who wants nothing more than the best for their team and SMU but they just don't have what it takes to get it done. Doherty has to go.

Despite his lack of coaching ability, Doherty has done a great job of getting players here. It is very easy to see the talent on this team. Manx isn't just blowing smoke. IMO, JJ is emerging as the best player on the team - he's tough, takes it to the hole, gets to the line and can defend. Smith is the biggest surprise to me. He is very fluid for a guy his size. Love his upside. The lack of PT for Manuel and Cunningham is puzzling, because the talent is obvious there. I would love to see Vilde, but he's MIA for whatever reason.

If we can hang onto the 2012 class, we're in pretty good shape. Hopefully, we can get a Big East upgrade in the X's and O's. It's up to SO. We'll see.

Sole possession of last place in CUSA. I couldn't make the game, but caught the end in the car on the radio. Just in time to hear Doh snap at Allen Stone for even questioning the huge rebounding disadvantage. Doh says thats by design because we have a small team and don't want to send guys to the offensive glass because its a waste of time. Thats nice but bullcrap, what about the defensive end where we are giving up 15 offensive boards to the other team every game? Doh basically declared a moral victory to even hang around with such a great UCF team. At home, seriously? Nice spin Doh.

The biggest problem is the complete lack of interest right now, even on Ponyfans. No game thread? We'll see what kind of turnout we have for TCU, but i see no realistic scenario where Doh is coaching at SMU next year.

Yeah and who recruited the "small team?" :)

Just watched Doh's post game interview and then Jalen's. Grading a team for effort and possibly getting better is OK but a coach gets graded on wins and losses. I think everyone agrees on that. After six years and consistently having a "young team" as an excuse no longer hold water.

I know Doh's does a good job on academic achievment for the players but his overall grade is a C-.

Doh spin has drilled such a deep hole that the season is all but over. I guess the next rationalization is that we are getting ready for the conference tournament. Not sure if it is still the case, but in the past the BE tournament cut the bottom 4 teams.

Great face guy and recruiter. Failed experiment, end of story and time to move him upstairs or out.

Easy for me to say since I'm not able to donate much more the equivalent of a bacon sandwich to the program.
