They'll fill that spot with a BE team.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

I'm good with playing FSU. IF AND ONLY IF they come to Dallas.

Are you nuts: we would open with FSU, Baylor, TCU, and TAMU. Given that we will have a new OL and new QB, that is a recipe for pain.

Just being the college football fan I am I would like to see the match against my alma mater. I would not be eager to see the final score.

We need a confidence booster win, not a game where we'll not only lose, but possibly get massacred and killed :p

What is wrong with you people? If SMU is going to eventually end up in the ACC, this is the type of team we will be playing and have to beat!

I don't care if a program is at SMU's level or Alabama's level. I think it is always smart to start the season with a patsy so as to work the kinks out of the new players.
My theory on idea OOC scheduling:
1) Game 1: Patsy who you should beat even if you play poorly. Ideally, it would be a local team that might interest fans. SFA is a good choice. UNT would be better.
2) Game 2: Team that you should beat 100% of the time if you play well, but could beat you if you don't show up and play well. Once we are in the Big East, a team might fit the bill (although they would be a horrible draw).
3) Games 3 &4: Good teams - ideally rivalries that you carry over from year to year (with all games home/home). TCU and Baylor IMHO are ideal long term teams for these spots.

Which team is that?
