I would just add that they should be spending their time planning the billboard they are going to put by our campus.
I'm in agreement with most on here. I don't care if Froggy High fans like our rings or don't like our rings. I don't like their butt-ugly uniforms -- does that mean they should change them? (Actually, they should, of course, but won't.)
The claim that our guys have rings to celebrate the Skillet is flat wrong. The rings were given because WE BEAT PITT IN A BOWL game. The fact that they threw in a momento of the win over Froggy High is like icing on the cake, but you don't eat icing without getting the cake first.
Also worth considering: a few years ago, Patterson said SMU "had been thinking about TCU since spring ball." If they're this bent about our rings, it appears they're now thinking about us more than a month before spring ball even starts.
(Of course, if I went to TCU, I'd be thinking about SMU, too ... and wishing I had gotten in.)

Haha!
They are just upset they didn't think of that earlier. "Well we don't even think of that as a rivalry anymore." Yeah right. We may not be their favorite team on the schedule but their kids and alumni relish kicking our asses. Good for us, memorializing a milestone. But if we add it when we win, should we leave that side blank when we don't?

I am hoping that is the name of the ring owner. I would certainly like my name to be on mine.
That is the coaches name. It says JONES HC. The players name is usually engraved on the inside of the ring. You can't make a ring mold for every player/personnel.

A full scholarship to tcu wouldn't be enough for me to get that close to him.......ugh!

Wrong. Everyone gets their name and number. Welcome to 2012, laser engraving.

Agree.
We fans are the ones who put an enormous amount of stock in beating TCU. The game in Dallas in 2010 was the only decent turnout of the season other than the bowl game against Army, so why shouldn't the players and coaches believe that it is of highest importance?
