I don't rely on Rivals for ANY talent evaluation-I rely on Rivals to tell me who is being hotly recruited, who is getting quality Division 1A visits and who is getting quality Division 1A offers. Each recruit is generally interviwed and specifically asked which schools offer and which schools he is visiting. No its not entirely accurate-anybody can add any confirmation of other schools a kid visits or offers. I'd like to get as much accurate info as anyone. But sorry I'm not buying the idea that a championship or bowl team is likely going to be built off talent evaluation alone when 2/3 of your freshman class are not getting quality Division 1A offers. On the positive sign I do think SMU has a better chance to compete now that they can recruit more Prep, JC, and CC players

I've heard similar things. Rumor has it there's a very good WR and a true sleeper (small school) DE that have the coaches excited .... if we can get them.

The guys I am talking about that may be last minute surprises are not sleepers. These are guys that have quality D-1 offers that everyone has been recruiting. I am not saying we are going to get them and the coaches are not saying we are going to get them, all I am saying is that there are a couple of kids that are very highly recruited that we have been quietly staying in contact with that, should we get them, will make everyone really happy. Who knows if they can play but Rivals has them very highly rated. My guess is they can play.
