Need to get a coach that can do both for sure.

That is a very rare commodity. What we need is a coach who can recruit and who can hire the right assistants to coach, ie Mack Brown, or a coach who can coach and who can hire the right assistants to recruit.
Just send 'da money.

We need a recruiter. We seem to have some pretty good coaches already. What we need is another stud, high energy recruiter.

The team with the better players wins 80 to 90 percent of the time.

Why does it have to be one or the other. They're not mutually exclusive. We should expect both from our coach. They may be different levels of strengths for each but a coach should do both.

Wasn't it Barry Switzer who said something along the lines that he was not the best coach, but he continuously won at OU because he always got the best players? I think that holds true.
