What years are relevant when the BCS conferences re-evaluated? Doesn't that process happen soon? I think Boise and UH are the only ones that bring BCS points from the past 4-5 years so, my guess is that the Big East would pull strings to get them in for 2012, if 2012 is within the re-evaluation window.

Houston would be ahead of us in the pecking order because their buyout is lower.

Since Houston and SMU are in the same conference I believe the buyout is the same. Houston has had the higher ranked team for BCS points and they would probably go before us for that reason. That is of anyone even goes to the BE early.

The Bg East is very unstable at this point and only guaranteed to bring us a net positive for the next three years. We need to do everything we can to get there now, even if that means a large financial hit. As crazy as it might sound, I actually think SMU would have a better chance winning The Big East this year than Conference USA...

I think buyout $ is directly proportional to incoming freshman class GPA, so comparing coog high to WV, I would guess around $750,000.

Isn't UH a founding member of cusa? If so, their buyout is a lot less. Think founding members only pay 500k
