One of the best things ED can do for this program right now is to get this kid to commit to SMU! He's got to have some influence over him - could be the second biggest thing ED can do for his alma mater since his playing days. Anybody can contact him? Ponypride? ;-)

why would you expect this? none of my nephews ever showed any interest in any school i ever attended. it's an unusual relationship that translates into following an uncle to a school. lots of families spread around the country just don't spend that kind of time together these days. and a generation apart, kids have their own likes and dislikes. probly thinks ed is an old fuddy duddy.

But if my uncle was in the record books in both college and the freakin NFL, I would listen to his advice if I'm following in his footsteps.

He was at UT Junior Day last weekend. Was impressed and going to talk to family. I think he had already visited LSU Junior Day too. Hev said a decision could come in a few days.

Well, if there are no plans to even attend SMU Jr day then I guess we know the answer. Hmm. You would think more 4, 5 star guys with the massive egos would want to be a big fish in a small pond (why Moreland said he chose us) in one of the largest media markets in the country and coaches with strong NFL connections ...

Most egos are fed so full they probably believe they are so badas$ that killing it at UT will be no sweat. It sucks being behind two guys that are just as good or better than you and thinking "man, I'm never going to get a shot". It it were me, I'd look for programs that were only several players away from being great and take it upon myself to recruit those needed players to come with me. I'm surprised we haven't had a "Pied Piper"...maybe you could consider Conner Preston that...but to me that shows we either aren't selling, or kids aren't seeing our potential yet. Look at Matt Nordgren.

Yeah look at Matt Nordgren! Brings shame to all of Dallas and his family for being a shallow materialistic failed reality TV star. Come play at SMU or sit on the bench at Texas and be a reality tv freak.

We don't have a strong graduation rate for High School QB recruits

The thought is that he really projects to a Passing Game TE at the next level

Even if projecting as a TE in our system he is a major red zone threat plus a tremendous down field blocker to spring the short passes that JP was best in all of college FB in designing and developing.

ED, get on it!!

I'd sell the kid on catching passes for two years from Gilbert and a developed CP, go pro and cash out early! He will have better stats at SMU.

I think he is supposed to announce on Wednesday-probably UT or LSU. Several sources say UT is a sure thing
