No Longhorn fan pines for June Jones. They may want another coach but June Jones would be like 50th on their dream list.
June has done an amazing/transforming/reviving/fantastical job at SMU...but he isn't giving it his all, seems to be losing enthusiasm and is unapologetic about any of it. Throw in the public ASU humiliation and that's how we get here today. When you get paid 2M/yr people want to see you work hard. Life. June says he's re-invigored...I hope so.
Texasfight - you do realize that SMU was not the only one paying players right? and that your beloved and insanely corrupt university couldn't handle the fact that we were beating them at their own game so they called in the dogs (NCAA). Your awesome university is also the one that broke up the old SWC b/c they couldn't handle competing with other schools for recruits and decided instead to cut as many as possible off at the knees. Before you bring your high and mighty "we are texas" attitude on here you might want to learn a little history first.
Can you image the vitroil if June Jones coached Texas and they waited until March 24 to have a Junior Day-how about 9 offers to Texans by the end of March
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

None of you save 2 or 3 could have a discussion of any kind on Jr. day timing before reading this thread.

Jones said that with our BCS conference affiliation that we should be able to recruit like the big boys. Apparently we are still in CUSA mode. Maybe when he gets back into the country things will kick into a higher gear. No one should bank on it though.
Smart by SMU. UT will get their early committments but look how that has turned out for them the last few years! Let the big boys have their jr days and then have ours. be upfront and offer those who are surefire guys and be honest with the others that you are still evaluating and so much can change inthe spring, summer and fall! when sure make your offers and keep parents in loop(family) and keep a few for last second defections.
TAMU did pretty well. Maybe we will have more junior days next year. We may have scheduled our juniors days before we were officially in the BE. I hope we are not afraid to go up against Baylor or TTech for recruits now that we are in a BCS conference. Seems Houston aimed high with Greenberry and won. We should aim high as well on some offers.

Another thing. In 1963, SMU went to a Bowl game with a 4-6 record. Storied program, for sure.
i tend to ignore trolls who don't understand basic sentence structure. you know, verb/subject agreement and things like that...
