OT: The making of a long time fan!

Post by Comet »

I'm not sure how applicable this thread is here, but I'm excited and wanted to share my enthusiasm. I just got news that I got into one of SMU's doctoral programs which I'm more than happy to accept. The funding is great, the cohort should be awesome, the school is obviously great, and I like the staff. I guess I'll be promoting some SMU football to my grad buddies even more than I was before.

James Hopkins is the bomb (yet skeptical of the influence of a strong FB program can have on the academics of SMU). Really nice guy. Convert him.

Excellent faculty in that department. In which period of history do your interests lie? I should have been a history prof...perhaps I will be in another life.

I'll be doing 19th century southwest history. A natural fit for this department really

Yeah, no better place to do that than SMU. Enjoy your time in the Ph.D. program!
