Craig James Speaking Engagement Tomorrow (2/28)

For anyone actually interested in hearing Craig James speak as a candidate for US Senate, he is speaking at my club Tuesday, 2/28 from noon - 1 pm at Edison's near the Police HQ and SouthSide on Lamar.

Yes, we had a good crowd. About 50 which is some what more than usual. We have a limited distribution list which is a long story. No ponyfans besides me were there.

He was extremely nice and personable one on one. Some here won't like this, but he was very good in his prepared remarks - and I have been around a lot of politicians. He is very conservative, and has some fresh ideas. I was also impressed with his knowledge despite his lack of political experience - which he offers as a plus. All in all I was very pleasantly surprised. Believe it or not the tech thing only came up in a one on one with one of the members.

He has a very uphill battle, but he is definitely is viable as a candidate, which I was unsure of before he spoke to us. His problem he is going up against a number of well known and experienced opponents. His daughter is running the operation and did a great job coordinating.

He certainly has potential, but the Senate race is a tough one for some one without political capital which takes a lot of time to build up. Especially in Texas.

I heard him at a function last week, and he was impressive. He is bright and articulate, coupled with a strength of character.

strength of character based on what? not knocking him - just wondering what evidence makes you say that he has more character then anyone else running?

Although I vehemently disagre with his political views, he is charismatic and a charming fellow, but there is no way in hell he wins anything.
