Glad we will be able to listen online. It would be great if we could get a backup media partner for future times when our teams play at the same time. But that's a future consideration and we probably wouldn't have had time to get those agreements in place for this tourney.

This has happened many times before, the men's and women's games overlapping and always in the past, the women's game would be tape delayed. The women's game has even been tape delayed for other non SMU sporting events on KAAM in the past.

Not sure why SMU is choosing to do this now. Only thing I can think of is that it saves them one hour of broadcast time, they will only need 3 instead of 4, on KAAM.

Men's game starts at 2:30, women's game starts at 1:30...not sure about the math you are using, but I find it hard to believe that we would be able to join the SMU men's game in the first half.

Doesn't matter anyway. One of the dumbest things SMU has done in a while, and that is saying something. Bush league through and through.

ANd anyone that says "you can still hear the men's game online" or "you can still hear the second half on the radio" has a poor understanding of priorities and perceptions in running an athletic department and what is important.

This is so unbelievable, but I guess not unexpected.

Perhaps they thought there would be more interest in the women's game than listening to another first round exit in Doherty's last game as coach.

so people who aren't reading this particular thread on Ponyfans will likely turn on 770 at 2:30 expecting the mens game (what else would you expect?), only to not find it? Is the womens radio crew going to do some sort of frequent mention that the mens game can be found streaming on the internet? I know that Rhonda's program has been much more sucessful than Doh has, but this is still very odd.

The listing will also be in the DMN tomorrow. In addition, Scott will frequently give updates during the second half of the women's game of the men's first half score as well as referencing the live feed on SMUMustangs.com.

Instead of giving logistics of how we are going to pull off our bush league move as effectively as possible....please explain why we are doing this.

We all are understandably concerned at the apathy surrounding Men's basketball at SMU, but doing dumb stuff like this certainly does not help.

Can hardly wait in a couple of years when we go to the Big East and are about to play our fisrt Big East tournament.. I can hear the radio spot now on KAAM:

"Catch exciting men's hoops from Madison Square Garden as your SMU Mustangs go up against the Hoyas of Georgetown...This game will be joined in progress at the consclusion of the women's game and "Cruisin Al's Sockhop."

Someone please get a clue. This is as embarrassing as scoring 28 points, having your men's game preempted on the "over the air broadcast" by the women's team.

Top 25 indeed.

In hindsight, I wish the 28 pt. game was preempted by anything.
