We're definitely in 'uncertain' times now days as for the flooding is concerned & anything can happen.

But on the other hand, this is great for Baylor & long overdue for an on-campus stadium. Competition only makes us better & recruiting-wise, it should be additional help in diverting more & more players away from the whorhorns & the Ags. Brown better retire soon while he's still a god. LOL!!!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Methinks we will play the Bears a lot more frequently than the Aggs or 'Horns long term, so isn't our competition just getting better?

I like the plan for the stadium although it reminds me a little bit of a South American soccer stadium. As far as the Baylor poster's endowment figures, my research tells me that we have about $300 M more in endowments then they do and that they have about 40% higher enrollment than us, so his math seems a bit off when he claims that they have a higher endowment per student. But then again the academics at Baylor are roughly equivilent to a Baptits Vacation Bible School, so we must make allowances.

He said Baylor's endowment is not as strong on a per student basis. Not sure how you misread his statement as the exact opposite of what he said:

Nice work talking academic smack in the same post where you demonstrate poor reading comprehension.

Shouldn't you Baylor posters be in "chapel" class? Or maybe hanging another Obama effigy from a tree with Ken Starr?

Those are actually two really good suggestions.

Actually, TexasBear08, downtown Waco has flooded many, many times. That was the reason for the dams that were built in that area. If it's flooded since it's been very minor flooding that was not noteworthy. Everything I've heard is that the stadium will be equal to the elevation downtown so it's highly unlikely to flood... although anything is possible. I would purchase a hefty flood insurance policy just in case.

Yes - Weak academics. Last time I checked Baylor was barely inside the top 100 in rankings. Not good. Behind every decent university in Texas. Just ahead of tech and UH. Weak

Nice stadium though.

Guilty as charged. I don't pay close attention to anything coming out of Baylor.

Any school that makes moves to reduce UT's dominance and potential helps motivate are own alumni to step it up financially is always good. But Baylor will still be a mediocre school and Waco is an awful city.

Put the crack pipe away. BU will steal a lot more guys with SMU offers than guys who have been offered by Texas and A&M

True. There is a positive correlation between TCU's rise and our remaining stuck in the mud during most of the past 25 years. Baylor is an inferior school in a crappy town, but most of the top athletes are not looking at academic rankings and Baylor offers physical education as a major, the dumping ground for a significant number of student/athletes at the larger schools.

There is no correlation between TCU's rise and SMU because SMU sucked for an entire decade both BEFORE and AFTER TCU's rise. SMU sucked because they were not playing on a competitive playing field. Quality football players were not going to go to SMU as long as they couldn't compete-and SMU could not and would not today compete without the type of marginal academic players SMU signs under June Jones

What's your point here Stallion? You've made it a thousand [deleted] times, but yeah, we get it. SMU sucked because their academic standards were too high, they were lowered when JJ came, and now we're good. Is anyone arguing this?
