I hope this works, seems like a nice man with alot of AD exerience, but it looks like the first basketball or head coach search for this firm and his first assignment as a head hunter. There is not one mention on his firm's bio or wickapedia that he has ever been involved in this type of assignment before. Obviously, as an AD for a number of schools he probably hired some coaches, but not one was mentioned as a highlight.

My god-is this a sign Orsini is going elsewhere and Braine will be his replacement?

I had that same thought except for the statement about his appearing to prefer retirement.
It makes sense to me.

Shaka supposedly is Illinois bound...wish we could get him here, but no go. Levine just revealed it.

It would be terrific but I don't see that. He's a great coach, but I see him going to a bigger program.
What was cool about the game-winning jumper for IU is that Alford is in the tunnel waiting to start his game with Louisville. Cool irony there.

Braine isn't replacing Orsini, he was Orsini's boss @ GT, and has a better hoops mind. Orsini just goty clipped, much like Beaudine, for putting his own interests above SMUs

Amaker is suppose the be already making about 1.2 million at Harvard. Do you think we can buy him out from Harvard and give him a decent raise? That will be kind of tough to pull off. But if the powers that be can then more power to them.

Not always about the biggest paycheck. The guy fell from grace as a big east coach, not doing that badly, but not good enough. At SMU he can redeem himself and have the time to build from the ground up, his way.

It was not cool for me as I was rooting for VCU.

Actually, Amaker faltered at Michigan. He got the job at Michigan after a good run at Seton Hall.
