Not bad ranking for SMU commit

Justin Willis of Denton is according to rivals .com the 28th best dual-threat qb recruit in the nation, which I did not realize. That is pretty big pick up and I have to say I know rivals isnt alwys the most relaible source for info, but that is pretty cool.

A bit surprised he only had the choices of SMU, Tulsa, New Mexico, and K State and surpised at our picking him up. I went to the Emerald Bowl in San Fran over break and if I was a running back I sure woulda been attracted to New Mexico if I were him just from watching the style of offense they were running with their very mobile QB.

Well then he had a very easy choice indeed. Ands if New Mexico and K- state offered he still had an easy choice. These recruits need to realize they are not making a football decision - 99% of them are making a life long career decision, and it is amazing to me how many of them chose for the next four (or 5 or 6) years instead of the next 20. They may only be 18, but it just does not seem that hard. Compare what the average SMU football grad is doing ten yrs after school to what the average Tulsa grad is doing - it would be dramatically different.

I wouldn't take shots at Tulsa. They are a comparable private university to SMU. Now if you want to throw rocks at NM, K-State, UTEP, Colorado State, La Tech or Cougar High then you can make the claim as to what their "future" looks like. Tulsa is at least as good a school as TCU.
