The way that some members of the SMU community refuse to let us fail is incredible and we should be grateful beyond what is even reasonable.

SMU plays a critical football game late in the season against UCF and the average fan says, ‘so what, it is Conference USA and look at the opponent’.

Nobody will say that when we play BE basketball. It is the equivalent to SWC football. BIG TIME. If we are successful, and there is no reason we can’t be, it will show the world we have returned. Winning Compass Bowls or Liberty Bowls would never get us the respect we can earn by winning at MSG.

You're right. The only other thing he can 'control' is marketing the product. The WINS is on the coaching and the recruiting after that. Consistently top 25 in both programs with a higher profile bowl and NCAA appearance in the next 2-3 years and I'll help pay for a statue of the guy. A BCS bowl and sweet 16 appearance, and I'll fund all of it myself!
