Nobody is poo poo'ing anything, just stating that there are issues that need to be addressed. We've gone out of our way to [deleted] off the locals again, and that's an issue. As of now, all of Cannen/Blaise/Jalen are closer to being out the door, than in the starting line-up etc. We'll see, and I like the aggressive staff, but you guys just aren't privy to many of the issues, or you're glossing them over like no big deal. Not saying this staff can't overcome, just saying there are big time obstacles, specifically locally.

what a load of B.S. - there are all kinds of people out there pimping themselves and their buddies - there was 100% chance regardless of the hire that someone would be tweaked about it since it wasnt their guy or they didnt get listened to. who cares. Get on board or dont - we have places to go.

The better AAU coaches are going to be pumped we have a serious staff - they dont care where they are from. What they do care about is that there is a spot for cousin johnny at about 100k at the end of the bench as an assistant. Believe me- Brown sees this played out across the nation so he knows what to do.

As for our current players and recruits - if Larry Brown and staff are a disappointment to them then they are dumber then I think they are.

and lastly - just watch what happens in the world of transfers and JUCO - We have overnight become the biggest transfer magnet in the country.

Secondly, there isn't enough Texas on the staff. Its a profile crew, but based on the way Orsini treated DFW grassroots in the process, they're gonna hold a serious grudge. Asked around about Howard, and someone told me he was recently iced out of Chicago, for not delivering on promises, not sure if true, but hope not.

Either way, as profile as it is, it doesn't address Texas. Jank isnt particularly strong locally

 ---Unbelievable...it's never good enough for anybody. And if people are more hung up on labels INSTEAD OF FINDING OUT FOR THEMSELVES then shame on them. I understand about track records and so forth. But for love of Pete, get to know the guy, will you?

This crap about assistant coaches are X,Y and Z is really a bunch of BS. I am so sick of this self-appointed royalty crowd. I guess relationship building is no longer an acceptable practice.

BTW, I'm going to take DFW underworld approach of saying, "We want you to hire this guy and if you don't, then you'll never get a player from this area.'' Nice people.

Eff it...let's just cancel the 2012-13 season since the AAU crowd threw a holy tantrum because it didn't get what it wanted and won't give the new coach (whoever that is) a chance.

Whatever...

I don't think they wanted to get the person they gave input about but at least they figured they would give the person an interview especially since LSU hired one of the recommendations. I guess they wondered why even ask if they are going to blow them off.

I think you mean we didn't kiss their [deleted] enough...

These AAU guys always change the rules and will keep changing them because they're more intersted in owning the argument.

I don't think Hobbie will be here when the dust settles. It's naive to think he will remain standing. If the players want to go... leave now. No one person or one coach is bigger than the program. And I doubt you or anyone knows who will stay and go at this stage. No one does. Just a bunch of guesses by everyday fans who think they know more than everyone and have special "insight" into the program.

No Mitch, it is blowing someone off when you talk to them and ignore completely when they say. Again, not saying you have to hire who they say but don't just ignore them. You can try and say it anyway you want but they never asked for anyone they spoke of to be hired but at least considered since from my understanding SMU came to them asking for input. Now you rip the local AAU coaches by twisting the situation to the extreme. Again, they never asked for any one of the guys they mentioned to be hired just considered.

i think hobbie will be here..it is just smart to have some continuation in the staff - if nothing else to help with the learning curve. Brown is smart - he will probably keep him.

How do you know that even happened?

If that did happen, welcome to the real world and get some thicker skin.

Got a lot of divas running around in AAU hoops and they aren't the ones on the court.

You suggested otherwise as if you knew what happened. I just hope that we end up getting things worked out as I believe we are trying to do. But it sounds like you are the AAU expert so I guess everything you say is absolute they way it is.

Ha - I won't comment then. Thanks for the twitter info. Ok have to comment, I think the circumstances drove this, but SO may have stumbled into a good hire once again. The outcome can't be any worse than what we ended up with the past decade, could it?

Say this new item... probably posted on another thread, but David Steele of sporting news likes the hire, and makes some good points...

Exactly Hoommanx. Nobody knows anything for sure, including both of us. We all have our little inside sources, but it is all conjecture at the end of the day. However many spout off like they are THE inside, decision making voice with infinite wisdom and knowledge. Quite hilarious and entertaining nonetheless. However, the purpose of the board is to present our opinions, and even entertain others even though no one, unless your last name is Orsini or Turner, knows for sure.

Possibly the most racist comment I've read on pf.com.
