Regardless if you like the hire/process, Glockner rightfully points out that PEOPLE/MEDIA are talking about us.

I'll certainly take that.

Interesting description of Brown... "With the hire of coaching legend and septuagenarian serial employment philanderer Larry Brown..." I don't think we'll describe him in the bio. this way.

Brown is less an investment in a coach and more a breakout line in the school's marketing budget. Heck, the school may have already raked back Brown's first year of salary in bonus media exposure. It hasn't been all positive, but it's been, which is a lot more than SMU normally gets.

He makes a very good point here. Now we need to leverage it with some marketing strategies and a decent season in the CUSA.

I agree Treadway..just every time SMU is mentioned in the National Media we gain notoriety which can add credibility.....especially if we have a good year next year.

We need him as much as he needs us and we'll see how it goes.

I know I'm geeked about the hire. Enough so to buy season tickets for this upcoming season that I let go 2 years ago.

Regardless, SMU basketball was not even relevant three days ago. He is a great teacher and hopefully can do the recruiting jobs (both athletes, assistant coaches and Doh's long-term replacement) we have been unable to do ourselves.
