Texas QBsfor decades Texas was considered a vast wasteland for NFL QBs-now the Top 3 Texas QBs in the NFL Draft and all in the Top 7. Has any state ever done that? Also Pro Bowler Andy Dalton last year. UIL Rule change that allowed 7 on 7 Tournaments has completely changed the landscape. SMU apparently doesn't recruit Texas QBs

Re: Texas QBsDoesn't recruit Texas QBs? Shockingly, an inaccurate statement, and before listing the Padrons, Mitchells, Willises, etc., can someone please remind where this Gilbert guy is from? New Hampshire? Iowa? Maybe the fact that Burcham was co-MVP of the Elite 11 camp was less important than the fact that he's from Arkansas, instead of Texas? Where they come from is irrelevant. If they can play and want to be at SMU, sign 'em.
Can't believe you gave props to a Frog. The fact that Dalton made the Pro Bowl is probably why the league is threatening to cancel the game.

Can't you? It's Stallion.

Best. Post. Ever.
Re: Texas QBsPersonally I was one who never saw Dalton being that good but the constant winning made me think of him like McIlhanney, just fitting the system. He has completely changed my opinion of him. Anyone that denies he has proven himself to be a good QB at the professional level is just fooling themselves. Nothing wrong with recognizing good play, even from the competition.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Texas QBsLots of the QB position is what you have above your shoulders (vision and brains)...Dalton is very strong in both of those areas.
Let's hope Gilbert has his head straightened out from the Texas mess and we get to enjoy two years of QB play out of a potentially Heisman-caliber player.

or long-whoren high or cougar high etc etc. anybody but the mustangs. just remember he went to tortilla tech for his law degree. Most likely was rejected by us so his love for the ponies will always be suspect.

Stallion- is this true? 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Texas QBsWasn't Kyle Padron from Texas? Wasn't the Gunslinger from Texas? We recruit Texas QB's, we just don't land the ones the Stallion likes.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Texas QBsJJ was paid top dollar to bring his vaunted RnS offense to SMU. This was suppose to be a Larry Brown-type situation; get NFL training from an ex-NFL coach.
Look at the QBs JJ has recruited, look at their offers. If anyone is pleased with what he has recruited here so far you are nuts. Stallion is simply pointing out that we have missed out on some great Texas QBs. I happen to agree, as do most posters on this board. I thought Printz was going to be a game changer, unfortunately I was wrong.
Re: Texas QBshow are those r&s QBs doing in the NFL?
But sure, bring them here. Its easy. Pay Lashlee more money
Re: Texas QBs
to say we missed out on some, sure. but to say that we don't recruit any just doesn't seem accurate. Derail the Frogs!
Re: Texas QBs
Sure June recruits some, he just doesn't get the ones that are worth a damn and most don't even get offers. His offense clearly doesn't have the allure he thought it would. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
-Benjamin Franklin
Re: Texas QBsJune Jones recruits mostly QBs nobody worth a damn has even bothered to offer-and passes over the Top 10 higher rated QBs sitting right under his nose. None of those Texas QBs were considered among the Top QBs in Texas-except by him.
