I'm a SMU student, but I have been a Kentucky fan all of my life.

The situation with Kentucky hiring Cal and SMU hiring Brown are very different, but I am familiar with this turnover process.

When Cal came in, he met with every player. He wasn't afraid to tell them that they weren't UK material, and that they should look elsewhere. I think that Brown needs to do that here. As I understand sports scholarships are renewed annually. He needs to be frank to some of these lower talent players and tell them that they probably won't be getting playing time and should look elsewhere.

I hate to be critical with the players, because I personally know a lot of them, but if Brown is serious about recruiting and gets talented kids that want to come here, then he needs to suggest to some kids to transfer. Lingering around is just taking up a scholarship and slowing down the turnaround.

That's going to happen, but it will be tempered over a cycle or so, just as to not lose half the roster before next season. We'll need 5 or 6 open ships for the '13 class. May need one or two for transfers this Spring/summer as well

Time to read between the lines!

Does this sound good or bad, I'm a glass half full, so I think it is positive:

"Hellyahh my cousin JalenJones playing for coach former nba coach Larry Brown »»"

Response from Jalen:

"yeah we gone see how it works out."

So that was Monday and today is Friday. How are you feeling now on those issues? All assistants are locked down, including one with very strong AAU and Texas connections. Players have been given walking papers. We're actually advertising the program and Brown is on every talk show save Oprah. What else are we behind on?

This has been a helluva week it seems to me.

Yeah, as I have been telling my friends in the 55-70 year-old crowd, Coach Brown has accomplished more in four days than the entire group has for the past year! Makes me look foward to 71!
