I had the pleasure of knowing Junior on a casual basis for some years now and it appears that it may be a suicide. I'll copy a link below from our local paper. He was a great guy...going to be missed by many! RIP Junior!!

He sent "I love you" texts to his kids and ex wife before he did it. Really shocking news.

sadly agree...had one in our church this year. The family continues to play the harsh game of trying to think if they 'did' something, 'didn't' do something, could have, should have, etc.
Prayers for his family, and their difficult journey ahead.

i don't disagree, but you're assuming that he was of sound mind and body when he did this.
there was a chicago bears player that shot himself in the chesst a few weeks ago in order to spare his brain for brain trauma research. i've seen speculation that seau might have done the same.
i personally know two people who took their own lives. to say they weren't thinking about others and only thnking about themselves is reckless at best. you can't possibly fathom what person are thinking at that moment.

I just can't get behind that thought. It hurts others, yes, but nobody owns your life but you. You cannot require someone to live against their will to protect your own selfish emotions from loss.
It is like telling a suffering old in the hospital that he or she must fight a horrible disease against his or her will simply because the family is not ready for the loss.
Or in a much less severe case, a mom trying to force her child to pass up a job or school out of state because the seperation will hurt.
