Jones Named Top Coach In C-USA
Sporting News Honors SMU Coach

DALLAS (SMU) - The Sporting News has named SMU head Coach June Jones the top coach in Conference USA, the news outlet announced this week. Jones, who has led SMU to three straight bowl games, won his 100th game as a head coach in the Mustangs' 28-6 thumping of Pittsburgh in the BBVA Compass Bowl.
"The top spot is an easy call," wrote Steve Greenberg. "The Mustangs are 17-7 in league play over the past three seasons, each of which has ended with a bowl appearance... (Jones) has been consistently good."
