Not a Very Upbeat BEast Article from Boston Globe

Hopefully this is just the alarmist view. If all those schools mentioned were able to find new conference homes, there wouldn't be much left.

Blaudschun was also the author that suggested that the Big East might combine with MWC and CUSA in the Alliance back in October (something that never was actually talked about behind the scenes).

He's supposedly well-connected but has been wrong before.

It is very worrying that the Eastern Media thinks inside the box so often. There is such an arrogance about the Northeast that is mind boggling. The New Big East has more football potential than the Big East has had since the defections of Miami, et. al. They just seem not able to wrap their minds around that fact. Who are Rutgers, UConn and Temple. Certainly not FOOTBALL POWERHOUSES.

it would be beyond stupidity for the hoops schools to break away. Beyond stupidity. Basketball doesn't drive the financial bus, and nobody gives a sh*t about a conference anchored by Georgetown & Villanova for TV purposes. Please.
