Walk-ons

Postby DallasDiehard » Sat Jan 29, 2005 12:30 pm

I heard some walk-on candidates will be on campus this weekend.
Anyone know who they are?

I heard Jesuit RB Kyle McKissack is among the guys they're hoping will walk on. He's small, but he's extremely productive.

Ted Barnhart reincarnated maybe?

I think he is the granson of SMU great [deleted] McKissack from the Doak Walker days. Ran for OVER 2,000 yards this year in 5A. Could be a great walk-on candidate probably at an Inside Receiver Position.

Kyle McKissask would be an absolutely fabulous walk on. For the first time since I graduated (from Jesuit), I actually went to more than one game this past season- four. McKissack is incredible. Racking up 200 yard games right and left.

Small kid, but oh so talented. One minute you'd lose the little guy in a party of big men, next second he's busting out the other side for a 60 yard run.

He makes good, clean ankle breaking cuts. In the overtime win against Lake Highlands he made ONE move, and lost the entire defense, walking in untouched on the first play of the second overtime.

What I love about the kid, is that old cliche- he seems to get stronger as the game goes on. The plays that go for 4-8 yards in the begining of the game start going for 18 to 30 yards midway through the third quarter. And by the end of the game, he looks like he could play four more quarters while everyone else is sucking wind.

I sure do hope he walks on. He is a heck of a talent.

-Kyle McKissack is indeed the grandson of [deleted] McKissack.
-He came up just a few yards shy of the 5-A rushing title.

Very talented, but not as fast as Teddy Ballgame.

Where did the big O-Lineman from Jesuit commit? He was in a picture posted on the recruiting board during the season. A big-n; I don't recall his name.

That's Reggie Stephens, the big OL.
I think he's going to Iowa or Iowa State. Not sure which.

More on McKissack...

Rushed for over 2000 yards and was named the district 10-5A MVP.

Again, I'd love it if we could get the little guy.
